What do I need to upload if I run fishing trips in Michigan?

    Great Lakes

    If you run fishing trips in any of the Great Lakes that border Michigan, you must provide the following documents:

    • USCG MMC(we have to see the photo, name of the captain, and reference number of the document) 
      • Or Photo ID (if you provide the last page of your MMC)
    • Certificate of Inspection or a photograph of your Charter Boat License sticker/tag
    • Sport Trolling License, if fishing for Lake Trout
    • Proof of Liability Insurance 

    Inland Fishing

    If you fish any other body of water in Michigan, you must submit the following:

    • USCG MMC(we have to see the photo, name of the captain, and reference number of the document) 
      • Or Photo ID (if you fish in non-navigable waters or have provided only the last page of your MMC)
    • Inland Passenger Vessel Operator License
    • Inland Sport Fishing Guide License (as of March 2024)
    • Boat Registration
    • Proof of Liability Insurance
