Why do we ask for your Tax ID number?
FishingBooker processes online payments through Stripe, a PCI Level 1-certified payment services provider. To ensure that you can enjoy quick and secure transactions via Stripe, we need to verify your Stripe Connected Account. To do that, we are required to ask for certain information about your business.
If you are operating as a sole proprietorship or file your taxes using your Social Security number, you need to:
- Provide your legal name exactly as it is recorded with the IRS
- Provide your Social Security number
If you run a registered business, you need to:
- Provide your Business name and Tax ID (EIN number)
Important: For smooth verification in the IRS database, enter your full business name exactly as it appears on your tax filing forms (SS-4 confirmation letter or 147C). This includes matching upper/lowercase letters, symbols, and punctuation.
Tip: If you are unsure about the correct business name, look for the information above your business address on your tax forms. If there are multiple lines, simply combine them into one line separated by spaces.
We'll securely forward this information to Stripe for verification and they will then verify your information with the IRS. This is done automatically and takes a couple of minutes. We do not store your Social Security or EIN numbers.
By completing this verification, you unlock Online Payments and other advanced payment features.
