If you are running saltwater fishing trips in California, you'll need to provide the following documents:
- Photo ID
- USCG MMC
- Commercial Passenger Fishing Vessel License and Commercial Boat Registration slip
- Insurance Policy
Freshwater Fishing
If you are running fishing trips in Californian freshwater, you'll need to provide the following documents:
- Photo ID
- Fishing Guide License
- For-Hire Vessel Operator's License (if you do not have a USCG MMC)
- Boat Registration Certificate
- Insurance Policy
