What do I need to upload if I run fishing trips in Florida?

    Saltwater Fishing

If you are running fishing trips in saltwater in Florida, you need to provide the following documents:

    • USCG MMC (we have to see the photo, name of the captain, and reference number of the document)
    • Either a Charter Captain or a Charter Boat License issued by the FWC
    • Boat Registration Certificate/Certificate of Documentation
    • Proof of Liability Insurance

If you fish more than 9 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico or 3 miles in the Atlantic Ocean, you'll also need to provide Federal Permits issued by the NOAA. Your listing will then receive a"Federally Permitted" badge.

    Freshwater Fishing

If you run fishing trips in freshwater that is non-navigable, you’ll need to provide the following documents:

    • Photo ID
    • Boat Registration Certificate/Certificate of Documentation
    • Proof of Liability Insurance

If you fish in navigable freshwater, you’ll need to provide the following documents:

    • USCG MMC (we have to see the photo, name of the captain, and reference number of the document)
    • Boat Registration Certificate/Certificate of Documentation
    • Proof of Liability Insurance

Please keep in mind that, while we do not ask for local licenses, most National Parks have some sort of local license that they require.
